Tasks: Small Jobs Done by Real Members

Tasks is where YouLikeHits members get small jobs done by other members: testing a website, answering a quick survey, proofreading, translating a few lines, picking between two designs. You post the task and set the Points it pays; members do it and send proof; you approve it before anyone is paid. Or flip it around and do other members' tasks to earn Points for your own projects.

Doing Tasks

  1. 1
    Step 1
Browse open tasks and claim one that suits you. Each shows what counts as done and how long you have to finish it.
  2. 2
    Step 2
Do the work, then send the proof the poster asked for, such as a screenshot, a code or a written answer.
  3. 3
    Step 3
When the poster approves your work, the Points are added to your balance, minus a 10% fee.

Getting Tasks Done

  1. 1
    Step 1
Describe the job, say exactly what proof you need, choose how many people and how long they get, and set the Points each one earns.
  2. 2
    Step 2
The full pay is set aside from your balance when you post, so workers know it is there.
  3. 3
    Step 3
Nothing is paid until you approve. Tasks can include one round of changes, and you can reject work that misses your criteria.

How Tasks Stays Fair

Pay is set aside firstThe pay for every spot comes out of the poster's balance when the task is posted and is held until the work is approved.
Posters review the workIf a poster doesn't approve or reject within 3 days, the work is approved automatically, so workers aren't left waiting.
Rejections can be appealedA worker can appeal a rejection within 2 days. The YouLikeHits team checks the proof against the poster's criteria and decides.
Fair to both sidesPosters and workers rate each other after every task, and those ratings show on their profiles.
Points, not cashTasks pay in Points, the currency you spend on YouLikeHits to promote your own links. Points have no cash value.

Not allowed on Tasks

  • Incentivizing clicking ads
  • Sign-ups that need payment details or a paid plan, or free trials that could charge later
  • Sharing passwords, personal information, or card or bank details
  • Moving money, crypto, gift cards, or buying and selling accounts
  • Spam: backlinks, bulk messages, or paid comments and posts on sites that don't allow them
  • Paid reviews, unless it's your own site or one that allows them. Never Google, Amazon or app store reviews
  • Adult, violent, hateful or illegal content
  • Anything that breaks another site's own rules

Tasks: Frequently Asked Questions

Small jobs that members post for one another, such as testing a site, answering a survey, proofreading or translating. The poster sets the Points a task pays and approves the work before anyone is paid.
No. Tasks pay Points, which you spend on YouLikeHits to promote your own links. Points have no cash value and can't be withdrawn.
Create a free account, open Tasks and choose Post a task. Write what needs doing and exactly what proof you need, then choose how many people, how long they get and the Points each one earns.
You can ask for changes once if your task includes a revision, or reject work that misses your criteria and say why. The worker can appeal, and the appeal is decided against what your task asked for.
After 3 days without a review, the work is approved automatically and you get your Points. The pay was set aside when the task was posted, so it is always there.
It works in a similar way, with small tasks, proof and an approval step, but it runs on Points between members of one community. Mechanical Turk closed in September 2026; see our Mechanical Turk alternative page for a comparison.
